Blends of Hydrocarbon are prepared in the gaseous phase for the accurate and repeatable calibration requirements. Most are supplied as certified standards. Since the potential range of blend is almost infinite most are prepared to customer order.
The poisonous effect can be divided into three main groups
- Asphyxiates - which are effecting the oxygen up take viz CO2, N2 CO and HCN.
- Irritating Gases - Gases which are irritating the organism viz NH3 CL2.
- Central Effective Gas - which are affecting the central nervous system viz different hydrocarbons / aromatics.
Maximum Exposure Level of all the toxic gases is measured as threshold limit value TLV. TLV is the time weighted average concentration of an airborne substance that represents the condition under which generally believed, all workers may be exposed to a normal eight hours five day week without suffering adverse effect. |
